As an investor in healthcare real estate and as an employer, we want to actively contribute to a sustainable and liveable future. At Care Property Invest, responsible entrepreneurship and ethical conduct take centre stage. We firmly believe that structurally embedding sustainability into our strategy contributes to long‑term value creation for all our stakeholders.
Our sustainability strategy focuses on three areas of impact:
Close monitoring allows us to better identify usage patterns and inefficiencies, which can contribute to improved performance over time. By 2030, we aim for an average energy intensity of up to 110 kWh/m² across our entire investment portfolio.
Since January 2023, all new company cars have been fully electric, with the aim of achieving a 100% electric fleet by 2027. In 2024, 32% of our fleet was fully electric.
It is our ambition to be a frontrunner in sustainability within the healthcare real estate sector. Today, we already have the youngest and most energy‑efficient portfolio.
A recent real estate portfolio contributes to lower risk of value loss and ensures greater future-proofing of our portfolio. Finance leases represent less than 20% of the fair value of our total portfolio.
Through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), we have formalised our commitment to achieving a net‑zero portfolio by 2050, in line with the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement.
